New date for the winners announcement: September 28th
Four winning teams from each of the participating cities — Bogotá, Bristol, Curitiba and Makindye Ssabagabo — will be announced during a live event on Wednesday, September 28th.
The winners of the Climate Smart Cities Challenge will be finally unveiled during a live event. For the past months the 45 finalists have worked on coming together as teams to propose combined and collaborative solutions to each of the unique challenges in the participating cities.
It has been an inspiring and collective effort bringing these organizations to work together on innovative approaches to reduce the climate impact in Bogotá, Colombia; Bristol, United Kingdom; Curitiba, Brazil; and Makindye Ssabagabo, Uganda.
Four out of the 12 competing teams will share up to 300,000 Euro for a planning phase taking place between June and December 2022, prior to ultimately demonstrating the potential solutions in 2023.
Through a systems demonstration approach the winners will create new pathways and showcase the potential that technology and innovation has to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
Stakeholders from cities across the globe, partners, coaches and people interested in technologies for the climate transition, will come together at the event, to discover the winning ideas and mobilize the necessary investments to make these solutions be implemented and scaled.
